Dear director,
When a cast member misses every rehearsal but the first, then he should be cut from the show.
If the same actor misses the tech rehearsal he should be cut from the show.
If the same actor shows up an hour late to dress rehearsal for no reason, he should be cut from the show.
If that same actor is not off book but the first dress rehearsal and we open less than a week he should be cut.
